This is the news we’ve all been waiting for!

Despite a further 5mm rain last night (taking November’s rainfall total to 112mm), following an extensive course inspection today the course will reopen to MEMBERS ONLY tomorrow.

Please can those who venture out over the coming days take care as there are still some areas of the course which are saturated.

There is no trolley ban in effect, but if you are able to carry it would be greatly appreciated. If you do use a trolley, players MUST keep to paths and the outer boundaries of each hole, sticking to the rough and only taking the clubs you need to your ball.

Please take the time to read the following Golf Shake article which explains the steps YOU can make to ensure that we can keep our course open as much as possible.

While the past 6 weeks have been frustrating for members, it has been much more for our greens staff who have been out back on vital development projects planned for this winter.

In the 6 weeks from 1st October – 15th November, the course was submerged in 212mm of rainfall. To put that in perspective 1mm = 1L of water per square meter on the ground. Or put more simply, 45 gallons! So per square meter, 212L of water has dropped! That’s the equivalent of 2.5 average size UK baths and, to us, that is a hell of a lot of water in one tiny place!

So please remember:

  • Stick to paths

  • Carry if you can

  • Only take the clubs you need to your ball

  • Repair pitch marks

  • Replace divots

  • ENJOY YOUR GOLF!
