In normal circumstances we would be posting our early season results on these pages! However, life is far from normal and like all other courses around the country, the golf course remains closed. Despite the closure, the golf club have decided to support our heroes in the NHS and have not only purchased a flag in honour of the service, but have arranged a Charity tournament later in the season with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together.
If you would like to enter a team please follow links on our website, or on our social media pages. Any business or individual who would like to sponsor a hole or donate prizes please email us, draxgolfclub@outlook.com. We are sure the golfing community in the area will get behind this fantastic cause and have a great round of golf in the process.
The competition replaces the annual Drax Open and will be played on September 19th.
While the course is closed the greens staff have been able to maintain the course in line with government guidelines and our members and regular visitors will be itching to get back to the game. The club has promised to freeze all membership while in the enforced lay-off, so members will still have 12 months golf for their subscriptions, a gesture that has been followed by many other clubs. The club will be following all government guidelines as the lockdown is lifted, however it will be offering some excellent deals to visitors when the course reopens so please keep following the club on social media.
We sincerely hope that next time you hear from us it will be the mundane reporting of monthly medals and exceptional strokeplay.
Stay say and dream of that next booming drive down the first.
