Following last night’s committee meeting we can confirm that the golf course remains open until further notice.
The Social Club has closed for the foreseeable future but golfers will have access to the foyer and the toilet block from 8am every day.
We are hoping that all individual and knockout competitions will be played, however team matches and team games such as “yellow peril” and scrambles will be postponed.
Roll ups and “fiddles” will be able to continue, members should meet on the first tee and select groups using non contact methods. We will send out a comprehensive guide to the policy when we have received a definitive set of guidelines from England Golf during the course of today.
The committee believe that golf is a healthy, non contact sport and we encourage everyone who is able to carry on playing.
Please act responsibly if you have symptoms as described by the government, or if you are in the groups who have been asked to self isolate.
You will notice on the course that the holes have been cut so that you can pick up your ball without scrambling to the bottom of the cup. The green keepers will be sanitising the flagsticks on a daily basis.
We will update you later today, but please enjoy your golf and stay safe! Best wishes The Committee
